Maven Beauty: Fenty Beauty Review Hot or Hmmm?!
Can we just have a moment of silence for Rihanna?! Yassss RiRi!!! Okay, back to the purpose of this post. Today I will be talking about everything Fenty Beauty. I decided to spend some of my coins on the products available, of course, I traveled to 8 different Sephora locations to find some of those items. But I'm happy to say I have purchased all the products that make my heart skip a beat! I'm excited to share my favorite items, let's transform into the Fenty girl.
This collection is truly focused on the look and feel of the skin. However, I am a little upset that she did not make any dope eyeshadow colors! I was looking forward to having some bold pop of colors in this collection, but maybe she's saving this for later, hmmm. My first product, which gives me my entire life is the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation ($32). The range of colors is so wonderful to see, finally a collection for fair to the beautiful deep dark skin tones. Upon trying this foundation I was a bit nervous because of the word "matte". See I have combination skin and sometimes oil-free foundation leaves me super dry. This foundation is not disappointing, it actually looks like your skin! I don't think I even applied setting powder after...this step is a biggie for me. The finish is flawless and I truly recommend this product for anyone who likes the no makeup look. Go lol..like NOW!
I hate to do this but the match stix trio ($54) was not my favorite. The concealers are cream base, which for me is no-no. My under eye area is already dry and when I applied lol can we say crease city. I have tried setting it with powder but the same results. I'm not a fan of shimmer sticks, I like a cream base glow. This did work great as an eyeshadow base. I will give kudos to the truffle contour stick. I have high cheek bones if I contour or not, but this stick chiseled my cheeks out hunniii!! The only thing I would repurchase would be the Truffle contour stick. With that said, the match stix trio could be everything you've been waiting for, so please try it. The makeup looks different on every skin.
The very thing that attracted me to the collection was the Killowatt Highlighters ($34). I love a beautiful glow, and the colors are AMAZINGGGG!! If you're looking for a great highlighter or even use it as an eyeshadow, my girl Ri Ri has got you covered. I look for gold or peachy reflects in my highlighters. I ended up getting Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule (I literally purchased because of the name) this highlighter is so beautiful on my brown girls. The product is a soft cooper sheen/supercharged cooper shimmer. I keep my cheeks on fleek but rocking Ginger Binge as a blush and use the Moscow Mule as a highlighter or eyeshadow.
The color that has everyone going crazy (drum roll) Trophy Wife! This highlighter is eye catching and for me thats basically it. The color has so much yellow gold and glitter that it makes me look like a disco ball. Maybe I will revisit this product again but it didn't seem worth the price point for me.
I know I mentioned I hate Match (shimmer) Sticks ($25) but I gasp when I applied Confetti. This color is beautiful and the boldness I was expecting. Of course, I had to purchase.
I purchased the Invisimatee Blot Powder ($32). Would I purchase again? No, I feel my drugstore blot powder does the same job at a cheaper price. This is a product that I normally set a price point to purchase at $10 or under.
Lastly, I love to have shine on my lips. The Gloss Bomb ($18) is a universal lipgloss. Taking the unicorn of nudes and putting them on your lips. Everyone loves a lip product that looks good on all shades.
